Answering your questions
Let's get started
When Christian Healthcare Ministries started in October 1981, no one could have known how God would use it to bless and minister to so many of His people. CHM began with a definable need, followed by an act of obedience to God's prompting, resulting in a continuing healthcare cost solution for hundreds of thousands of Christ-followers today.
For over 40 years, CHM has remained true to its founding mission—and we continue to experience historic vibrancy and growth. In addition to being the nation's longest-serving health cost sharing ministry, we are recognized as the standard-bearer for health cost sharing.
Fellow CHM members will be standing by to support you financially and spiritually should you encounter a medical event. They're ready to share your medical needs through a biblical and powerful framework.
To act in fairness to all members, each medical bill submitted to CHM for sharing is authorized according to the Guidelines.

CHM is a federally certified exemption to the U.S. Patent Protection and Affordable Care Act. As such, CHM is an eligible option under the national healthcare law.
CHM received notification from the federal government's Department of Health and Human Services that says, "...the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has determined that Christian Healthcare Ministries has submitted sufficient information to substantiate its compliance with the standards specified in section 5000A(d)(2)(B)(ii) of the Code [i.e. the PPACA] and will be considered a healthcare sharing ministry for the purposes of subpart G of 45 CFR part 155."
Our members are our priority and by following this formula, we can continue to better glorify God and be the living embodiment of Galatians 6:2.
Christian Healthcare Ministries is not health insurance, but rather a principled, budget-friendly, and eligible healthcare option under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that many Christians use as their solution to their healthcare costs. We welcome you to learn more about our health cost-sharing ministry’s history and how CHM meets the requirements of the national healthcare law.
